Legal
Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit this website or get in touch with us, why we collect it, and what rights you have. We keep it short and in plain language.
Who we are
We are the controller of the personal data described here. Aurelia is run by Nik and Jovan, and you can always reach us at nik@aurelia-yachting.com or jovan@aurelia-yachting.com.
What we collect
When you email us
Your name, your email address and whatever you write to us, so we can reply.
When you book a call
Calls are booked through Cal.com. You give your name, your email address, the time you choose and anything you add about your project. The call itself takes place on Google Meet.
When you ask for your specification
In our example configurator you can ask for your specification by email. You give your name and email address, and you can add a phone number and a note. We use these, together with the choices you made and a picture of your yacht, to email you the specification and a PDF. We receive a copy of the request and may reply to you about it. You can ask us to delete your details at any time.
When you visit the site
Like every website, our hosting provider records basic technical data for security and to keep the site running: your IP address, the browser and device you use, the pages you open and when. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, such as which pages are read and where visitors come from, but only if you accept it in the cookie box. It sets cookies on your device, and Google keeps this data for a limited time, at most 14 months. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other sites.
We also count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It uses no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not identify you. We only see totals, such as how many people opened a page and from which country.
A few features remember small things on your own device, for example the smooth change between pages, or the choices you make in our example configurator. This stays in your browser and is only sent to us if you ask for your specification.
Why we use it
- To answer your questions, arrange calls and send the specifications you ask for, as steps you ask for before a possible project (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To keep this website secure and working, which is in our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To understand how the website is used, only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- To count visits without cookies, so we know which pages are useful, which is in our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To meet our legal obligations, for example for invoicing and accounting if you become a client (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).
We never sell your data, and we do not use it for anything you would not expect.
Who we share it with
Only with the services we need to run our business, each bound to protect your data:
- our website hosting provider;
- Cal.com, for booking calls;
- Google, for video calls on Google Meet;
- Google, for website statistics, only if you accept cookies;
- Cloudflare, for counting visits without cookies;
- our email provider.
If you follow the link to our Instagram, Instagram’s own privacy policy applies there.
Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, your data is protected by recognised safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and booking details are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a client. Client records are kept for as long as the law requires, for example for accounting. Technical logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period and then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format. You can also object to how we use it. Just email us, and we will reply within one month.
If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country.
Security
This website runs on a secure connection, and we only give access to your data to the people who need it to help you.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, for example by adding analytics, we will update this page and the date at the top.
